The Pow(d)er Room

The powder room is one of my favorite rooms in the house when it comes to design. It's tiny, so it's inexpensive to redecorate. It's a bathroom, so you don't really have to take it too seriously. And due to the relatively short periods of time spent in it, you can really go wild and not worry too much about livability!
This bathroom by Stephen P. David uses straight lines and dramatic lighting to full effect. The vanity reminds me of a barbecue a little bit, though.

This one was a winner in the 2008 National Kitchen and Bath Association's design contest. It makes use of textures and colors that would be too much in a bigger space.

A dramatic stone sink is a nice thing to look at while... um... making use of the facilities in this powder room by Ghiloni Custom Builders.

This bathroom was done by Flickr member champagne.chic - I love it! I would do this in my house. Only in the powder room can you get away with black walls.

Huge, bold patterns are great fun in tiny places, as demonstrated in this Brown Design Inc. design.

A custom concrete and aluminum vanity in this Wooden Thumb Inc. design makes the floor seem much more spacious.
